When I was told that the shoot I was booked on was in a studio with a white cyc background, and brick walls, and included musical performances, I KNEW something had to be done about the acoustics in that space.  Sure enough, when I toured the studio it suffered from some pretty serious flutter echo issues.  I immediately purchased some Producers Choice sound blankets.  These blankets are custom made to absorb sound and can also be used for negative fill and as a bounce for lighting.  They performed great!  We were able to use them in place of bounces and negative fill that the lighting team was already going to use and they improved the sound dramatically.

​Working on a movie in an old movie theater today.  Really cool spot!  The building was built in 1906.  I'm not sure when or for how long this part of the building was a movie theater, but some of the old concession stand supplies had old logos and lots of dust on them.

Today I created online video content for JoyRide fitness and cycling.  It was a two camera shoot utilizing two 4K Panasonic GH5 cameras, three Aputure lights with 72" softboxes, and my standard audio kit.  I edited eight total workout routine videos for them with the footage we captured.

I decided I needed some more desk space and my studio monitors needed to be off the desk.  So, I got these great Gator FrameWorks clamp on monitor stands.  They weren't in stock for the longest time, but they finally came!

Another day where I'm thankful I had a Studio Maintenance class when I went to school.  My Sound Devices 744T audio recorder had some buttons that were becoming unreliable.  I delicately disassembled it, removed the faceplate, and discovered some grime building up on the switch contacts on both the front control panel circuit board and the contacts on the back of the white rubber buttons.  A few Q-tips and a little 99% isopropyl alcohol cleaned them right up and the old girl is back in service and good as new!

Football has been shut down due to COVID-19, but the TCU Horned Frogs are preparing to return to the gridiron with their annual half time hype video.  (Audio recorded by yours truly.)
